The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority Adds Additional Holiday Service

Hyannis, MA - The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) is pleased to announce permanent additional fixed route service on Presidents’ Day and Patriots’ Day.  While CCRTA does run on peak season holidays, it had not been operating during off-season government holidays.  Many of our year-round riders, some of whom work in the service sector, are required to work on both of these holidays.  As a result, they were forced to either pay for higher cost taxi rides or forgo a day’s pay.  CCRTA, which has a long history of listening closely to its passengers, heard from several who had voiced their concern.

RTA Administrator Tom Cahir stated, “Many of our wonderful customers do not have the luxury of a day off during these 2 state holidays. I am happy that we are able to identify the necessary resources in order to provide this additional service.”

Fixed Routes will operate on a Saturday schedule on Presidents’ Day, February 19, 2018 and Patriots’ Day, April 16, 2018.
